Is it allowed to have a massage? What should you avoid? Will the massage suit any pregnant woman? And also: your fetal body organs already exist, their body systems functioning and looking similar to what they will have at birth. And muscle cramps at night? A diet high in calcium can help

What is going on with you?

If you feel so much painless uterine contractions that are reminiscent of menstrual cramps and appear at irregular intervals, then you are probably experiencing mock contractions (Braxton Hicks). It is a familiar phenomenon that aims to prepare the uterus for birth. However, if it is a pain it is advisable to have a test.
Is it allowed to have a massage? What should you avoid? Will the massage suit any pregnant woman?

Pregnancy massage has many benefits:

  • The massage provides a real connection to the body.
  • Pregnancy massage helps to better understand and cope with the various symptoms experienced during pregnancy.
  • The positive effects that massage has on the mother can also affect the fetus.
  • The massage reduces the level of tension during pregnancy and gives the woman a sense of comfort.
  • The massage relaxes the muscles and relieves them, improves the flexibility of the tendons, and affects the nervous system (both physically and emotionally).
  • The massage improves the metabolic system, balances the hormonal system, circulates the lymph, and helps prevent edema. By encouraging the circulation of the blood system, an improvement in the oxidation processes in the body in general and in the placenta, in particular, is felt.
  • The massage may contribute to better oxygen transport to anemic women, prevent fatigue, and improve vitality.
  • The massage contributes to improving the quality of sleep due to a sense of calm and relief from stress.
  • The touch gives a good and relaxed feeling, soothes, and gives renewed powers.
  • The massage helps the mother's body drain toxins and debris through the blood and lymphatic systems.
  • Massage relieves both muscle pain and pregnancy pain - lower back pain, legs, swollen ankles, headaches, and tight neck.

What should you avoid?

  • Care should be taken to select a qualified therapist to talk, as it is not a "pleasant move" on the back. It is important that the therapist of your choice (masseur, shiatsu, etc.) be a professional to be trusted. Need to know how to talk - to know where to click, where not to press, to know how to adjust to the month of pregnancy, and also to alleviate the problems and pains that characterize the pregnancy. Professional care can certainly improve the quality of life and provide solutions to many problems during pregnancy.
  • Massage is not allowed for women in the first trimester of pregnancy, and even more, advanced pregnancy is recommended by a qualified masseur to treat pregnant women.
  • The areas where you should avoid massage in pregnant women are lower back, buttocks, ankles, palm between thumb and forefinger, outside of the small toe ("pink") of the foot, and the heel environment. The risk of massaging these areas is in the advance of the birth. And yes, these are exactly the areas to start massaging at the end of the ninth, when you're already tired of lugging around.

What goes through your embryo?

For the fetus, the estimated weight according to fetal growth curves in Israel is around 1000 grams. Yes, yes, a whole pound! Of course, this is only an estimated weight, and the weight varies between male and female fetuses (larger males) as well as the genetic data and more. The fetal body organs already exist, their body systems functioning and looking similar to what they would appear at birth. However, for the next few weeks, immense importance in maturing the fetus and its lungs.

Pregnant nutrition

Eating: Something against the cramps

You wake up in the middle of the night in pain, your leg muscles contracting.

You are not alone (you must have noticed your husband), strong cramping of the legs during sleep “attacks” during the second and third pregnancy many women.

What causes this?

  • The increased weight of pregnancy creates a strain on the muscles that carry it.
  • The growing uterus presses the central veins of the legs.
  • Progesterone affects the muscle tone of the legs.
  • Mineral deficiency such as calcium and magnesium.

All of the above causes the muscles to contract and wake you up from your sleep.

Is there an anti-cramp diet? Not exactly, but still some tips:

  • The Rebbe in Drinking - If you don't want to run to the bathroom during the night, be sure to finish the 10 recommended glasses late in the afternoon.
  • Notice the moderate weight gain. Make sure you have a calcium-rich menu containing dairy products, sardines, almonds, and more.
  • Steps in the Magnesium-rich foods menu such as legumes, soy, nuts and kernels, and whole grains. How about a nighttime bedtime meal, about 10 nuts or a handful of sunflower/pumpkin or a glass of redness? And best of all - a line of chocolate with 70% cocoa solids, all magnesium-rich foods.
  • Try drinking bedtime tonic or lemon bitterness. Quinine found in these drinks is known to relieve leg cramps. Moderate consumption of no more than a personal bottle per day should be observed.

NUTS: A calcium supplement for sensitivity

Studies have not shown that calcium supplementation is effective against the contraction, however, it is clear that women who do not consume enough calcium must supplement the lack of dietary calcium supplement to reach the recommended daily allowance.

Women who are sensitive to lactose, and therefore do not consume Nigerian dairy products nor do they consume calcium-rich alternative products, such as soy-based products, must take care to supplement this nutritional deficiency.
